Reports & Pictures Chase Day 14 - Co/ne

Started the day with a firm target of Eastern Nebraska so left out overnight position of Hays (Kansas) and moved North on Highway 183 to Holdredge (Nebraska) for lunch. After stopping in a Maccy D's we noticed a developing situation in Eastern Colorado with a Surface Low in SW Kansas progged to draw up some moisture into the Eastern part of Colorado. So we took a massive gamble and headed west towards Burlington. The HRRR Model once again performed fantastically well showing 2 Discrete Supercells at 6-7pm. As we got down there it would become very apparant that the Tornado threat was going to be quite low as the moisture surge was about 150 miles much further south than expected. A nice Classic Supercell went up South West of Limon but struggled when it left the higher terrain and into the low 40's Dp's. Further South near Peublo Moisture was starting to increase with east winds noted. We got onto a very nice Sculptured Supercell SE Of Limon and then another near Lamar. Some great pictures were taken and the lightning was insane at times showing us the beautiful Structure.

All in all a great chase and the gamble paid off, but we are way out of position for tomorrow's risk in Wisconsin and Iowa.

Brilliant chase long day - another 600 mile drive but it paid off in the end and the storms were fantastic - Twas an interesting day all round - I had a 20yrd sprint in a Wal Mart car park to save someones car from being damaged by a super market trolley - We the had an extremey near miss with an Eagle and thne ended up with three supercells - have some video but others have a lot better.

Tom had to go trolly chasing after a gust of wind sent a trolly rolling towards a car in a wallmart in Nebraska. Believe it or not the owner of the car was not very grateful when we told her. Fair play to Aishley for being quick off the mark to get this one. V Funny.

Twas a long and interesting day - Was sandblasted by the outflow - chased a super market trolley - nearly hit by an eagle - drove 600 miles saw three totally amazing supercells and rounded the day off by getting set upon by two stray american pit bulls in the hotel car park - I am not a coward but in the instance I made a beeline fhe van hoping it wasn't locked with the two dogs large fangs after me - As you can see with the trolley I can run and this time I had my trainers on . Got to safety
