A much fresher and cloudier day compared to the last five, with temps not making the 20's, unlike the last 5 days when 25 degrees has been reached - rarely do we see 5 days on the trot with maxima of 25 degrees or more in the peak summer period, nevermind late May- it has been a superb spell of weather.

Morning was cloudy, sunshine broke through during the afternoon and it has stayed fine all evening. May can be sunnier than July and late May evenings are often much sunnier than evenings in July - I do love this time of year...

Tomorrow may see a spit or spot of rain, the first since Friday 18th, but the outlook for the next few days at least looks mostly dry, so a fortnight with barely any rain looks on the cards, again something very hard to come by during peak summer period.

I don't want to say this, but the period 20-29 May could easily go down as the best of the year for warmth, sunshine and dryness. Indeed it has beaten anything we experienced during the last 5 summers.
