Well I wait for 3 months for a decent Thunderstorm in Derby then get hit by a cracker near Driffield on the way to Filey!!.Torrential rain and 4 decent lightning flashes and 2 CG strikes!.Anyone else around there?!

It feels alarmingly cold today, I dont actually remember the last time when it felt genuinely cold in June (I mean wintry cold), but it does today, I am pretty shocked at how cold it feel actually.. partially dismayed at how Autumnal this June is turning out to be too.

There looks to be a long line of heavy showers stretching from Hornsea, through York and beyond. I am about 15 miles south of that where its been quite a nice afternoon so far with some sunny spells and a max of 16.9c.

Lovely to see that the sky has now mostly cleared with just a few bits of fair weather cumulus and strata cumulus and a temp of 19.5C - alas it is only an interlude - I am getting quite anxious to see a nice settled spell with temps in the upper 20's but it does not look like that writhing serpent in the sky is going to allow that for a while but let's hope it shoves off to its normal summer position between the north of Scotland and Iceland, otherwise this summer is going to be a washout.
