Still nowt here sorry.gif. Everything seems to have passed over and kicked off further north or is too far east. Havn't given up just yet but am getting a bit worried! Enjoy your show anyhow good.gif

Cheers mate it's quietened down somewhat but still the odd loud bang like. I am sure your day or time will come I am always frustrated listening to others talk about thunderstorms etc when it's dry in the NE! lol

I feel your pain Andy!...lol.....the latest batch that tip toed through the W Midlands in the past hour has, as expected, burst into a life and is starting to stomp a mudhole through the north east midlands into Lincs...This area is of interest IMO to anyone chasing in the Yorks/north lincs area as it's starting to spit out sferics on its northern flank and could well develop into a multicell cluster

Sounds very promising, hopefully it will hit me dead on!

Lots of low cloud coming in off the sea here on the coast but hopefully when the storms arrive the change in wind direction should drive it all away.

Saw a little storm cross in front of me from Sprunehorpe towards the Humber. I am now near to Goole and thinking of either intercepting the cell south of Sheffield or going for another bit of the storm i just saw which now looks to be towards Market Weighton/Beverley?

Praying for these storms to reach me!! Haven't had as much as a crack of thunder in 2012

Turned decidedly warm outside

Just had a short lived but very heavy shower here with gusty winds. No lightning or thunder though.

There were a couple of rumbles during the night at about 2am during the heavy rain which was a nice surprise.

Got some decent pics as that last shower approached, I will upload soon.

Supa, i am in Donny and it is getting very, very dark. The radar tlooks doodah too, so i would hang around where you are - this one's headed home towards Beverley so should go right over you.

I can see the line of thunderstorms on the radar approaching the Tyne and Wear area- the question is whether they will maintain their intensity, given that the winds are yet again off the North Sea. Radar looks promising for now though!

Yeah just SE of me, sky looks black. My radar was stuck at ten past one so it's kind of taken me by surprise.

Thats the one, nice development on the last 3 scans. Its all out on its own so should not get cutoff by any other storms. Also coming over land it might pick up some extra energy. One to keep an eye one!

Definitely heard a distant rumble about a minute ago tongue.png

Good, about 20 minutes ago I told my Gran in Jarrow to expect a thunderstorm in half an hour.

Wish I was still living in Hebburn just for today.

Another shower approaching Nottingham on the radar, but nothing too interesting.

A distant rumble of thunder in Cleadon, the first of the year.

If the storm reaches Cleadon chances are my view of it will be heavily obscured by low cloud spilling in off the North Sea- not sure if Jarrow will be much different on that front!

Absolutely chucking it down here from that small cell just inland of the Chi coast, but sadly nothing else thus far.
