Coming up to 19C already, we've had two very intense bursts this morning, I'm sure the latter had some hail mixed in.

Can't wait for this afternoon and evening!

Was a mostly cloudy night with some rain (0.3mm) which was litterally just enough to pull all the crap out of the air and onto all the cars! It's now bright blue sunshine although I can see clouds bubbling up to the south west due to the heat of the day, it's extremely hot and muggy in the sun it's 23.7oC and 85% humidity so the dew point is 21oC which is almost unbearable to sit in but I am prely because prom is coming up and I want a tan! aha

An extremely humid, tropical feeling morning with low cloud, mist, Cirrus, Altocumulus, hazy sunny spells and a few very brief sharp showers.

Now mostly sunny with Cirrus and Altocumulus patches, 23.0c (soon to be the warmest of the month!) and 84% humidity.

Was a mostly cloudy night with some rain (0.3mm) which was litterally just enough to pull all the crap out of the air and onto all the cars!

An unusual way to describe the precipitation of dust from the Sahara desert! Lots on the cars here in Cheshire also this morning, and judging from twitter it's widespread over much of the country.

edit: Here is a cracking satellite pic of the dust affecting the Canary Islands a couple of days ago - a phenomenon known as a calima with the western side of Gran Canaria reaching 42.6c yesterday in the hot desert air.

And another sat picture with an almost Martian atmosphere in Lanzarote -

Same Sahara precip in Essex overnight too. Its times like this when having a black car most definitely does show the dirt.

Oh wow, they are very good pictures, I didn't realise that's where it had all come from, I thought it was just in the air because it was so hot but now that seems a bit silly aha, I did see that it was from the Sahara just after I posted it on the telegraph online, oh and wow 42.6oC glad I wasn't there! This heat is even too much! mind you, it is a drier air over there which I prefer very much! we got a high of 28.2oC here and the humidity was still around 75 or above so almost unbearable!
