Still some decent energy available in eastern regions even at 9pm this evening, should be

some good photo opportunities.

The CAPE and LI over on the continent is a bit distracting though. ohmy.png

Can't hear any more sferics now, seems like activity has died off in the NW although there are some distant sferics >100 miles away.

Edit, OK I spoke to soon, two sferics a bit closer, one about 50-70 miles and one that sounded quite close indeed. I shouldn't have opened my big virtual mouth, although not that i'm complaining.

Yes that is strange, perhaps St.bees has a micro climate.

Nah, winds straight off the Irish Sea, right on the coast with frequent showers. Plus it's further North, most of Cumbria looks cooler today anyway.

Very heavy, potentially thundery cell just West of Kirkby, that's what you just heard, probably.

Ha ha yeah, I've only seen a few flashes, and it looks like its a good few miles south of the river. Nice to see though, along with the fantastic cloudscapes.

Ah. fingers crossed it maintains its Northerly migration other than pushing totally out to the east, as is sometimes the case !

I've only seen 5 flashes of lightning today, all from 5-10 miles away. I saw that much lightning every 10 seconds during Thursday's storm!
