Just a couple of charts for me and if you catch my post in the convective thread, you will see that there is a lot of rain about later in the SW with some severe warnings out from the likes of SkyWarn. I'm not sure whether it will get this far, have a look and see what you think:

SKYWARN UK SEVERE WEATHER WARNING - PDS #038

**PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION**

ISSUED: 2300UTC FRIDAY 6TH JULY 2012 (RB/SM)

SKYWARN UK HAS ISSUED A SEVERE WEATHER WARNING - PDS FOR THE FOLLOWING REGIONS: SOUTH-WEST ENGLAND

IN EFFECT UNTIL 1800UTC SATURDAY 7TH JULY 2012

SEE SEVERE WEATHER WATCH #037 FOR FURTHER DETAIL

THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION; EXTREMELY SEVERE WEATHER IS EXPECTED IMMINENTLY, OR OCCURRING, SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE REGIONS INDICATED. THREATS WITHIN THIS WARNING INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

HEAVY RAIN...FLOODING...LANDSLIPS

DISCUSSION:

FURTHER REVIEW OF FORECAST MODELS FOCUSING ON THE SOUTH-WEST OF ENGLAND CONTINUES TO PROMOTE HEAVY AND SUSTAINED RAINFALL ONTO ALREADY SATURATED GROUND WHICH WILL FURTHER HEIGHTEN THE RISK FOR FLOODING TO OCCUR IN THE REGION. THE ENVIRONMENT AGENCY AND MET-OFFICE CONTINUE ALSO TO HIGHLIGHT FLOODING POTENTIAL. GIVEN THE SATURATION OF GROUND, COUPLED WITH FURTHER HEAVY AND SUSTAINED PERIODS OF RAINFALL THROUGH THE WATCH PERIOD, LANDSLIPS ARE NOTED AS AN ADDITIONAL RISK. THIS PDS MAY BE UPDATED. PLEASE MONITOR WEATHER AND TRAVEL INFORMATION AS NECESSARY.

Any action predicted for our region? (Suffolk) it's not looking too promising going by all the charts but Im no expert.

Edit: Better say something about the weather so as not to be deleted....umm... raining a bit, humid.

Phew, that was close, think I may have got away with it.

Morning !

A dry start to the weekend with some brightness here, a few patches of blue sky left but it seems to be clouding over more - everyone in the neighbourhood seems to have decided to get up early and mow their lawns and someone is having a BBQ already good.gif

When I went out early this morning, I thought the day had that 'feel' about it.

The radar looks pretty good, so I think parts of our region will get t&l. I'm not sure whether Ipswich, with its coastal proximity, might suffer though, as the drift looks from the S/SE. I wouldn't rule anything out though. I'm actually closer to the coast, so might be in a worse position than yourself.

Wait and see and good luck!

Lots of showers here now, chances of assembling the outdoor tennis table today are diminishing (90 minute job for 2 people apparently, so make that 4 hours with a team of structural engineers, not including the time spent weeping)

Listening for thunder is worse than lamppost watching in the winter, those little drops of rain you think might be snow?
