Nah, game over for today for us. Too much cloud now, the heats diminishing and there's very little humidity. Another boring non-event for us. The Lincolnshire Storm magnet strikes again!

Cell to the W of Birmingham looks to be intensifying

Nothing as yet....just missed out on the spherics to the East.....again

being kept occupied with a colony of House Martins which have moved into the skies in front of my camera

.....these little buggers are harder than daytime lightning to snap

Its only 2pm

Sorry bud, but the likes of Cloudwatcher, myself and other long term storm starved souls, have been hearing that one (without anything subsequently happening at all) way way way too many times now. The belief that something might happen in our neck of the woods in these situations has long since gone.

Too much cloud? It's very sunny and has been cracking the flags here for a good while now after the showers earlier. It might be cloudy in cheshire but it isn't here.

If I had any money to put on today, it would go into the triangle formed by Sheffield, Grimsby and Grantham...... bomb.gif

Isn't it funny when someone like that in the east says there must be thunder with this rain and it actually does? I wish that happened in the west.

Just got back from Daventry.....I drove through unbelievably heavy rain near Coleshill...The roads there are flooded (A446/M42 interchange)....Some amazing cloud structure there....I've got some video that I'll upload later lovely cloudscapes with a huge structured anvil overhead, clearer skies to the north then a line of well sheared Cb's on the northern horizon....Anyhoos, the best convective stuff seems over the east Midlands, as usual, looks like the West Midlands breeds them, the east gets 'em..nothing new there then!!!

one solitary strike just east of pershore.........come on.......this way pleease...

I can see lots of brightness to the west of me so there will probably be time for the suns heat to produce more humidity before it drops too far.

Im sooo jealous right now.

Havent seen a single storm ( or pretty much heavy shower all year so far )

Because of the constant Westerly ish flow we have been in quite a dry spot compared to the rest of the country.

Would be awesome to see a rainfall totals for the year so far on a map.

Sitting near Harby, south east of Nottingham but not much to report yet. Looks like I missed the best action I can see some of the towers from here to the north east. Got a good viewpoint though so I'm just waiting for this next shower.
