Clear until around 03:00GMT with a ground frost, the temperature lifted later as low cloud and thick fog developed in the area. Vis < 100 yds at times this morning. At observation, fog < 150 yds. Patch of hazy blue sky visible directly overhead. The fog and low cloud eventually lifted around 10:30 GMT and the morning and early afternoon saw sunny spells. High cloud increased by mid afternoon hiding the sun. Feeling cool for October, despite the sunshine and lack of wind.

A vile day!

Extensive Stratocumulus and hill fog so it's very dull and to add to that persistently drizzling with occasional sharp bursts of rain. Calm and very humid too.
