Seriously wet here! torrential rain in the last 30 mins.

Rain started at 6am, 17mm in total, 10.8mm fell in an hour, quite a bit of flooding i suspect. I've also just heard the fire brigade go out on a shout, so something has happened. :o

Rather surprised not to see very wet conditions here under deluges of rain after last night forecasts. Instead a very light shower apart it's dry, very misty and merky with a fresh and mild SE wind. 12C. Think we struck it lucky here so far.

The day dawned mostly clear after an overnight low of 6.8c (much lower then was forecast).

It soon became overcast though and we are now awaiting the impending rain however looking at its movement on rain today we may miss most of it for a change.

Overcast and misty, with the temperature constant at 11.4 deg C. Can see the rain on the radar, looks like the first burst probably won't give us much and a stretch of the M4 corridor to the west of us may escape it altogether. [Edit - just started to rain now]

A dry day here in Leeds so far as most of the rain appears to be tracking North over the Western half of the UK with some places no doubt having a terrible day. Looks like we may get some this evening though.

    • Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average. Despite a colder drier respite on Monday, staying generally unsettled to see out the rest of the month. But hints of some drier weather in early April. Read the full update here
