It's been great to see people getting a taste of some wintry weather already, a big hello to any newby's who might be lurking - please don't be shy, these regional threads are geared for a more general 'chatty' discussion to give all members a chance to post and discuss the weather or potential weather within our region and also to enjoy reading informative and occasionally humorous posts.

The chat room is perfect for general conversation and can be found here... http://forum.netweather.tv/chat/

For anyone who might have missed it there is a regional meet up arranged on Saturday 8th December at the Shenley Lodge Toby Carvery in Milton Keynes, if you would like more information on this please let me know.

For those of you that have booked a place and not already paid up I will need your deposits for the meal asap please.

Hi all.

I haven't really posted much on the forum over the past few months for various reasons so I want to begin posting regularly again across the forum, especially in this great thread! Really looking forward to winter this year and hopefully it will be a good one for all of us. Especially for those snowy days and nights when this thread is full of activity! drinks.gif

Looks generally colder than average for the time of year with a predominantly polar maritime flow in the forseeable future. A stark contrast to the start of last November which was very mild.

As for now, currently 3.2C and a little breezy.

Kind regards,

Ben

I didn't know we had an area meet up... Sadly I can't make that one... :( is it the first in modern times?

When I say modern, I had a stab back in 2005 at a meet and although the 4 of us who came had a good time, it would have been nice to have had more there!

Think there's about 18-20 of us going this time, so quite a mass!

Nov 5th. Totally different from last night. Low pressure over the south east east-north easterly wind if only this was later in the winter. Also look to our north east. High pressure has built. Could be worth keeping an eye on ;)

Tues nov 6th

High pressure just gets to the south east. South westerly flow and dry very cold at night

Wed 7th nov

Note the high pressure is being forced away to the south. Se under easterly flow dry but chilly. Cold evening again

For people learning the charts. High pressure does not necessarily mean warm weather.

Morning all,

Min of 3.2C, and currently 5.6C and mostly sunny, a lovely start to the day. Looking mainly dry over the weekend albeit windy at times and quite cool for the time of the year. Have a nice day!
