This morning I drove from Workington to Cleator and it was very wet, heavy rain and breezy. The afternoon was much better, a sunny end to the day.

We'd been missing most of the November rain until today, it's been clicking up steadily all morning though with just over 13mm since 5am..

All but stopped now, but still very gloomy with light NNW wind.

It's cooler too at 5.3C

Wonder if we'll be getting the divided regional forums back up in time for the upcoming cold spell? :D

It'll be busy enough when the complaining starts that us in the NW don't have any snow tease.gif

The NE usually does get more than us in the NW, but you do just about as much whining as we do because your area is most certainly one of the least snowy in the NE. :p

Ah, I love it here. We may be relatively poor and full of chavs, but hey, it's snowy- and that's what you need.

I'm almost certain my first house will be in Weardale :p

Snow encourages the chavs to become active. Watch your back out there man!

Where is the wind and rain? Nothing but drizzle all morning, and the winds are certainly not gusting over 30mph. Not too excited about that squall line now either, looks like the mountains are giving it a real battering, it's losing it's energy...

Dry and bright so far. 10.9C

30 mph? It's rattling my windows and the trees are bent over in higher gusts. Agree about the rain though, no squall line evident up here

Nothing more than good weather to dry your washing here, and I've just come back from the hills which are directly exposed to the wind!

The mean wind speed here is as high as 30.9mph, gusts in excess of 40mph.. but nothing out of the ordinary. Doubt we'll get much rain here, it has really been a world apart here from most other places getting 100m+ every month since April..

Fantastic amount of rainfall here in the last couple of hours, the fields are over flowing onto the roads making for large areas of standing water on many of the roads, the drains clearly can't cope as the water is coming upwards out of them!

Max gust here 57mph, could have been better.... St Bees recorded 60mph, barely a breeze here now though.

No where near as impressive as the squall heading into the SW right now with a good force 9 gale ahead of the front gusting up to 70mph, reports of roofs blown off in Milford Haven.

Looking at the most recent NAE chart, we'll get 7mm or so over the next 24 hours.. really dislike this rain shadow.

Relentless rainfall here with falling temperatures, 7.1c now with calm winds.

A few incidents cropping up now on the travel news due to flooding.
