Large flakes still falling, and EVERYTHING is white now, including walls etc. This is 3x as much as anything that fell last year.

Pictures in an hour or so :D

Temp falling away here now. Currently 1.3 after a high of 3.5 today. Can see cloud off to my south over the Irish Sea. Suppose there's nothing expected snow wise in my region of the NW over the next couple of days?

@ NE'erners - there seems to be a more organised band of showers moving in from the North Sea to affect southern parts of the region in the next hour or two.. Current showers around coasts haven't died away yet but most likely energy will tend to fade during the night...

Just a few flakes flying around now, so the final depth is around 5cm on concrete, 8cm on the grass. Not bad! There should only be a few more light flurries now for the rest of today.

Primary school was sent home early as the roads are terrible.

It snowed so heavily salt was just covered up and they don't do the minor roads anyway.

There's about 3" lying, still rather wet but during showers it chills down and begins to blow off roofs etc.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
