Oh well, the rain is here too now. It looks to be gone this evening with a bit of luck:

Afternoon all. My new rain alarm app has just informed me that there is precipitation about a mile away. (From Norwich) Looking at the radar it seems quite accurate. :D

Hope you're all having a good day. :)

Same here, it wasn't too bad when I went into the Xscape building but a few hours later I've come out to near darkness and horrible wet rain.

Damp and drizzling here today. Going to make a shepherds pie for dinner.

My question of the day:

Why is it when the girls are tidying their rooms, it's always "nearly" done and never actually finished...

It certainly feels like a comfort food sort of an evening here, I wouldn't mind a shot of honey rum either as I seem to be getting a head cold...I'm supposed to be on the wagon (it's week 2) but it wouldn't count if it's for medicinal purposes would it ?

Today is definately one of those days you can't wait to get home, have a comforting dinner and get on the sofa beneath a blanket with a cup of tea and watch TV all night.

And that is exactly what I intend to dodrinks.gif <-------exchnage the beers for tea and you get the picture.

Here's the first of I hope to many model summaries that I will be doing as we approach and enter winter on this thread. I've done my best to make them centric to East Anglia/South East of England. Please leave any feedback. Thankyou! :)

http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rukm721.gif

The next few days will be rather un-eventful weather-wise with HP over Eastern Europe having the strongest influence over the weather in this region. It will be mainly cloudy over the next few days with light winds, leading to the possibility of mist and fog at night. Some bright spells are possible, with a little rain possible Thursday evening/night. Maximum temperatures generally 10-13C with temperatures falling to as low as 4-5C during any clearer spells at night, however more likely to be around 7-9C with the cloud cover.

UKMO T+120: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif

GFS T+120: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png

ECM T+120: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm1201.gif

All three main models have a trough approaching the UK during the weekend, with winds turning westerly/north westerly. GFS has a little feature which may deliver rain to the SE corner during the early hours of Saturday. Saturday appears to be quite a dry and sunny day with max temperatures 8-10C. Saturday night at this stage seems to be clear, so temperatures may fall as low as -2C in some rural spots. Sunday also looks dry, though a touch cooler with temperatures maxing out around 6-7C. However a low approaching from the west will prevent another frost Sunday night.

GFS T+168: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1681.png

ECM T+168: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm1681.gif

GFS has a notably deeper low than ECM, though this to be expected at this range. Both scenarios would result in windy conditions (GFS more so) with a band of rain crossing the region with showers following on behind.

ECM ens mean at day 10 (0z) http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Reem2401.gif

Low pressure is anchored near Iceland, driving down NW’ly winds. This will bring slightly colder than average temperatures, with the risk of overnight frost in clear periods as well as rain and showers.

Support for a cool unsettled outlook.
