No one staying up with me to witness this beasties strength? Keeps cranking up here, judging by the 65mph gusts recorded along central southern coasts already and a pressure of 987 i am guessing this is more violent than met office predicted.

Im hanging in here for another hour or so. Reports elsewhere of very strong winds in Brighton.

My weather station isn't corrected for sea level pressure and i've got 980mB dropping pretty quick. Corrected for height above sea level it should be 988mB. Fallen by one millibar as I write.

Wow that's really starting to pack a punch now! Have the window open listening to the constant roar but the gusts are now

Shaking the house. That's never happened before.

That's what I was going to ask, are we at the peak here on the south coast or do we have worse to come?

It's very rough here in north Surrey and far more further south. This is just the start of the wind storm, over the hours increasingly violent gusts of winds are likely.

Barometer has dropped rather a lot now. I think the southern counties will suffer more from this low. I wish that I slept in the back of the House, all Southerly or SW or even SE winds keep me awake. And my daughter too. Son will wake up as usual not hearing anything.

Would swop but he is not having my en-suite! lol

Possible sting jet forming ?

With gusts of 73 miles per hour already reported on the South coast, this could well be a sting jet as some have mentioned.

Well it's going to get worse before it gets better!

This is one beast of a low in terms of wind, the wind is roaring outside

Should be much better by sunrise though
