Hi all, am i right in thinking that if it snows on the 16th of dec this year, that it will be 3 or 4 years in a row its snowed on that day?

Did it snow on the 16th last year?

How about a man have you got one of them to get rid off,it will work out much cheaper, tidier and less stressful and you dont haveto cook every night, problem solved drinks.gif

Now there's a thought. But it will have to wait until he's paid for all the christmas shopping. drinks.gif

I hope it snows soon, I have really wanted to take my little nephew out in it, hopefully I can train him up to be a massive weather nut like me. biggrin.png

2.0c here at the moment. I have little frosty sign on my weather station.

Netweather has me with 80% chance of snow on Wednesday. What's the likelihood of that happening?

oooh just popped my head in for a quick catch up before going out and see this! Whether it does happen or not you've got to love the ups and downs of this time of year.

Someone said it was snowing in London around midday ish.. Anyone else heard anything?

Met Office acknowledging the chance of wintry weather sunday night/monday morning now, couple of sleet symbols from midnight to 6AM for my location, will be interesting to see how this develops, can't see any real snow this far south unfortunately on this occasion.

colder again on the 4th

fi is on the 7th at present too much scatter

it isnt and there are colder ensembles smile.png

First decent crack at some snow will be on this coming wednesday into Thursday for me as the cold air undercuts the low that will bring

the rain and milder conditions on Monday. I would say I am 80% confident the southeast will have some snow on these days, maybe not

widespread but hey smile.png

Edit: John pike beat me to it

Looking at the latest BBC forecasts, am I the only one thinking the Met Office have underestimated the amount of snow and location.

Not talking bucketloads, but surely the cold air will put up more resistance and a battleground will develop.

Maybe I'm talking out of my backside?

I think it looks likely across our part of the world that there could be a period of sleet/snow for about 20 mins or so as the precipitation moves in, but unfortunately without a slight shift southwards in the system, the colder dew points get mixed out pretty quickly.

That said....this is still over 24 hours away, and the NAE has been swinging wildly from run to run as it tries to cope with a very complex interaction between airmasses

Evening everyone. Hope everyone has had a nice 1st day of winter, i was frozen solid at a football match! Look i have been away 18hrs and in that time the models have shown some incredibly seasonal and snowy charts, long may that continue.

When warm air moves in from the west against the cold east, the warm air all ways wins..But this time it will be short lived. Much colder again from Tuesday night and Wed & Thursday looks interesting, One thing is for sure its cold right up to next week-end and beyond.

its 0c here at the moment in East Essex, just slighty above the -1 at this time last night
