Quite mild here in leyland, lancs, had heavy rain this morning, not doing anything at the moment, about 5 degrees now i think.

Clear spells for up to midnight allowed the temperature to fall to –3.9c with -8.0c on the grass before cloud arrived from the west through the early hours lifting the temperature. Though still frosty at dawn the temperature had risen to near freezing. Cloudy with intermittent light rain to observation, frost thawing. Temperature 2.0c which is also the 24 hour maximum up to 09:00 GMT.

A mainly dry night with high and medium level cloud gradually thickening to bring intermittent light-moderate sleet from about 0530 until 0830. The wind increased overnight too, accompanied by a steady rise in temperature, with a maximum gust of 32 mph at 0454; the temperature reached a max' of 2.6c around the same time.

Currently dry with the occasional brief glimpse of sunshine.

-1c. As I arose and saw the very white frost this morning. 5.3c. now. A Westerly breeze at 3mph..Clouds were thin and white but now some grey clouds are showing.

Nicey icy walk in Dove Dale. Either they had some freezing rain or a bit of snow that melted then froze.

Anyway temps struggling down to 1.9C after an high of 4.7C

The residual cloud following the sleet early this morning cleared by late morning and the rest of the day was dry with long sunny spells. Almost all the cloud dispersed by early evening.
