I've my fingers crossed that the beasterly comes to fruition. But if I end up in the snowless corridor again, I may explode.

Appparently it snowed today and I missed it! I chose that EXACT timeframe to take a long bath with no windows!fool.gif

Remember the birds in this cold weather. I've noticed that the berries that were so visible in November have all gone. Worth putting something out. I have my regular 'Christmas robins' back this year :-)

Just done a lamppost check (first time ever I've had one right outside my house)

Few flakes blowing in the wind here in Ipswich :)

It was a shortlived affair, hardly lasted a few minutes.

I've just ordered my food shopping online... and added 10 litres of bottled water and a bag of de-icing salt... just in case tease.gif We got caught out one winter when temps went down to -9 overnight with burst pipes and had no water for 3 days whilst we defrosted!!

I think i'll wait couple more days for those insane charts to verify then i'll do mine, and bottled water is very important, especially with the risks of major water pipes bursting.

Some wintry weather will stick around through out tonight before easing off by Thursday morning,

Key

Blue Rain

Green Sleet

Pink Snow

Models show next bit of wintry weather moving in on Friday morning at the moment it's a mixture of rain and sleet but that could change.

Been too wet today for frost, so probably some snow. You're further North than I am, so the spots of snow have been hitting you more often.

Please what do I say to a couple of local OAP's I know who are really suffering from the cold and havent a clue how they can pay to keep warm?

P

I'd tell them what I used to tell my mum. Put the heating on as they need it to keep warm. If the bill is a large one then I'm sure they can come to an arrangement with the utility company. Meanwhile, be a good neighbour and keep popping in to check they are ok.

Oh congratulations Jimmy, that is wonderful news.

Clearly you will have no time for snow now, and we will get loads.

Now where is my mulled wine, I have an excuse, I'm going to wet the baby's head. :)

I don't think I can take the thought of the Daily Mail crowing over their headlines last week.

hi all

the charts today probably are the best we will see on here

i really want to see the fax charts

tonight will go up to the 10th

tomorrow night will show the 11th

the 11th is the all important start to the cold spell

i like cold but not sure i want the ecm charts to verify

a watered down version with plenty of snow would be nice

howerver -12 uppers will paralyse the uk

this would lead to -7 daytime temps

nightime potential -15

anything that fell would be snow and streamers would pop up all over the place

remember even if this waters down it will still be bitter

not a grump before anyone says it.

just want my heating back asap

That is correct, they can't turn u off no mater what you owe.

Basically this time next week you will know if your weather preference of a snowy winter will come to fruition or not. At the moment I believe it's 75/25 in favour of happening.
