Light rain at consett

Yup we are doomed then for snow over here - if it's raining in Consett it would be raining elsewhere - then again rain to clear away the pavements isn't a bad thing ;-))

Meto updated precipitation model shows intense precipitation over Pennines this afternoon with little making into the more populated parts of the NE until this evening.

That might be a good thing for us further east then with cooling effect of the evening/night then.....

On the map Yorkshire is region 3 I think?

No

If you look at the projected temps, its above freezing all night for most of the region.

If the PPN doesn't reach here till eve then we could be in for more chances of a snow event as the colder air behind catches up with the front and it occludes...you never know I guess

That's wishful thinking I'm afraid :p:D

You can get snow at around 1-2°C btw, but the dew point would probably have to be a couple of degrees below freezing.

The snow cover is starting to look a bit sorry for itself. Down to 4cm on the lawn from 8cm yesterday evening!

The front is finally getting its act together. Newcastle will be very wet or very white in about an hour.

Ambleside is looking very snowy indeed now: http://www.amblesideonline.co.uk/webcam/webcam.html
