Currently that lot coming down from the North on NW Extra radar brings cold rain, maybe sleet and a few snow patches on the Eastern flank?

If you look at the radar it gainingin intensity, ie evap cooling.... See what the next few hours have to offer.....

Lovely Clear Skies at Sunrise giving way to the Front from the North, No precip at the moment but expecting Sleet at best here, I reckon if anyone can hit the Snow Jackpot today it might be Kent if the Colder Uppers can dig around enough before it clear into Europe.

Onwards and Upwards to next week after this lot goes through!

NMM & WRF both show precip for some of us, around mid morning perhaps. NAE not as much. Looks borderline sleet/snow to me (just my amateur opinion!) but I guess some of the heavy showers will be more snow. Wind gusts pick up again as it veers to the North West, according to the GFS/NMM. Maybe 40mph in places. Could be an interesting morning for some, hopefully!

Here's that lump of cloud on its way through Norfolk currently, I've no idea of its forward speed:

Looks as though its snowing in Norwich/just east of Norwich, according to the 'weather type' feature on the NW radar (found the new version to be very accurate!)

Temperature is falling here still, now 1.5C

Snow: Britain Braced For First Major Fall

Commuters are braced for more travel chaos in the coming days amid warnings they could see the first significant snow fall this year.

Next week is expected to be much worse than recent days, according to Sky News weather presenter Isobel Lang. "The weather is looking much colder next week with the potential for an icy blast from the east. This could bring some significant snow falls across eastern Britain," she said. Friday will bring slightly better weather after a light dusting of snow sent the UK’s transport system into meltdown on Wednesday.

But there could still be some transport problems due to early snow, particularly over eastern counties of England, said Lang. The weekend should be better although there will still be icy roads and risk of wintry showers in the north on Sunday.
