Well I am off to brave the elements in a minute to pop to the post office to get some Christmas cards weighed - my family in hot and sunny Australia had better appreciate it!

Rain is turning sleety here, as it's increased in intensity.

Just walked youngest down to Priory School and the paths in the park are much more slippery than the 'skating' rink (note no mention of ice in their advertising, primarily because it is plastic!)

Sleet almost made it to snow now, but really wet and pretty raw weather.

AS

Edit: mostly rain now

I must have followed you across the park! Definite flakes a few minutes ago- miserable now!

totally agree with you.. just going to watch the bbc forecast from now on.. fed up with model thread, who to be honest the experts aint got a clue because the models aint got a clue.

Think they under estimate the power of the atlantic and in my opinion always do. To get the beast proper i think the Atlantic needs to be sleeping.

If the posts in here are anything to go by we can expect rain, sleet, snow and any other possible weather over the next couple of hours!

Chance of some Wet Snow in the next few hours the further East you are, it might look pretty but almost zero chance of any settling due to length of precip and heavyness.

Monday onwards still looking very good for our region! Just stay away from the Model Thread as just because it is not showing Siberian weather for 8 weeks consecutive the toys are/have been thrown all around the playpen! The exciting thing is by looking at the models, the Meto Update etc we could have a battleground scenario later next week, these as everyone knows are always classic flights, the Snow to Rain usually wins in our area but on the odd occasion the block fights it back, all up for grabs still on who wins!

If we dig up the M4 and move it to the South Coast, we might stand a chance of seeing a longer spell of snow if the battleground scenario does develop..

It was expensive enough last year - dread to think how much it will come to this year!

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
