Upload limits

Hello Paul

Are there limits on the amount of files you can upload on Netweather?

I'm on my IPhone and have been trying to upload charts etc that are normally uploaded onto threads, ie NWP charts, but its saying that the file is too big, yet these are the same type of charts I have always been able to upload, and others upload.

Files of that size shouldn't be a problem so I suspect it may be related to a bug in the software / iphone which is blocking it. Have you tried it with the basic uploader? There's a setting just under the upload button on the posting screen

Basic upload is what I use. I find I can normally post one or two charts but after that it says Error. File was to big to upload.

I also notice the amount of data I can upload changes after I post a couple of charts.

There is a global limit in terms of upload space, this was 150mb per member which in the days when we used to prune old posts etc was fine but I guess now we just archive them on here it's a bit small, so I've increased it and will monitor how that goes.

Hopefully that should mean that your uploads work again now.

I've just posted a chart/file on a thread now and all is working fine again. Obviously I'm posting too many attachments/charts etc so will try and cut down a bit.

Not a problem - like I say it's not a case of you uploading too much, it's just a case of us having the same limit for a long time & needing to up it.

Same problem has now reoccurred as above. Files too big to upload again. Any chance of another increase?

I'd be surprised if you've hit the new limit already, could be the single file size limit which I believe is 4mb, what are you uploading?

Just normal GFS/EC charts etc.

It's says I can upload 77.5k of files. But when I choose a chart to upload, it says "Error File was too big to upload".

Yet its only the normal chart stuff I'm trying to upload, the same stuff as everyone else in the MOD thread.

You've obviously been posting a lot!! Anyway I've dropped the limits off the system now so you should find everything works.
