A dank, dark, dreary, dull, dismal December day. We've had many such days inbetween christmas and new year in years gone by, notably in 1997, 1998, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007 and last year, indeed the current spell of weather is almost a carbon copy of the mild murky mesh of last december, very unseasonal it has to be said... how I long for the conditions of 3 and 4 years ago.. 2010 cold spell incidentally ended on the 28th Dec.

2012 looks like ending on a very dissapointing note with further wet dull weather. Lets hope 2013 brings less depressing fayre.. since April in the main it has been a preety woeful year weatherwise, with far too many wet days..

My mum tells me the 28th December 1955 (the day I was born) was cold here with lying snow.

Not so today. Positively mild with patches of drizzle.

The worst possible weather for winter, in my opinion.

I detest winters like this. Even my grass needs cut.
