Clear skies and the stars are out just up the coast here in Hastings. What on earth is happening in Brighton Marie ?

it got mega windy then hailstones and then turned to massive big snow flakes ,now all gone quiet .Temp dropped 2 degrees while it was happening

Oh I forgot on a weather front it's really clear here now, it feels a lot colder and the wind has picked up slightly too. LD

We had lovely big fat flakes for five minutes in Woodingdean, Brighton. Kids got all over excited (oh and me obviously)

the 'curve back' has started to take place and it really looks like it shall affect east anglia only

It started a little while ago, how can you tell at such an early stage where it will go ???

is the rainfall radar not working properly for anyone else (v6 version)?

wasn't sure where to mention this and apologies for being off topic

Mine appears to be working fine.

Sounds like parts of Essex (Southend) are now within the closed circulation of the LP and so are getting the lower temps and Dewps from the east. The rest of the SE is stuck in this wretched NWerly flow. And to think a few hours ago we were all getting excited about the streamer through the Cheshire Gap now can't wait to get rid of it lol.

If only Mike

Back upto 2.6c and 1.4c Dewpoint

Would love to be over west though with this dramatic convective weather.

Maybe an Outflow Boundary thrown off by the front earlier causing this convective energy! ?

Look at the radar, there is no way its going to travel back down the country in a SW direction, its already heading SE

Cant be the same radar I'm looking at. The stuff in the Wash and to the North of it will lick round and has someone in the SE name on it.

Not sure who's though...

Yes

But something has allowed this amount of energy to throw up such a convective cell, effectively that is what an outflow boundary does, throws up a single isolated cell that keeps it's energy, but I am sure you knew that!
