Hi there everyone, Are you all sitting down? Reason why MetO are showing heavy snow over the SE on Friday/Saturday so early in the week is because they are confident this event WILL occur

At present, ppn incoming from the North Sea on a variant E to NE wind flow will penetrate slightly inland

The very cold air mass is very dominant right now which indicates it could be around longer

Looking at radar either anaprop or showers are building as they move towards kent..... Also grphics on sky ( i know not good at all) looks to show a streamer across kent tomorrow.....

Just tried looking at Friday on the MO page for London and there is no real warning.

The yellow area is over on the west of the UK only...

Does that bolded line mean in Kent or somwhere else.

The West will turn to rain and therefore driving conditions will trigger an early warning for them so wouldn't worry about that, plus they will get winds and blizzards first, then rain will make wet roads and ice.

I said dont worry if we take a while to get snow on Friday, the later the better, after midnight etc

I could be wrong but I guess confidence is greater for the West to see snow at present because fo the nature of the set up, but also they will get the snow earlier than us remember, West to East etc.. so maybe our warning will be issued tomorrow morning. I wouldnt worry about the warnings yet.

Small details but I reckon the wind NW'ly in places is enough to move any snow chance away from me here and push over to the East as predicted by Meto imo. even though the expected E'ly kicks in soon

BBC weather forcast just finished with the words, "on friday snow will be moving in from the west, warnings will be updated, this is of some concern."
