The easterly is the best bet because that band progged coming from the SE is going to skirt round this area by the looks of it. Crewecold's snow shield must have migrated NE this winter!

problem is we really need a powerhouse easterly with really cold uppers though and that does'nt look on the menu, really worried by the GFS, be interesting to see the 30 dayer update today, lets hope the milder spell is a blip else i will start to fear the worst.

the front has stalled, and is beginning to pivot. Any further north and east and we'd be well screwed..as it stands still heavy big flakes of snow, same intensity as 3 hours or more ago now.

Good. I'll take a side of blizzard with that. :D

How long do you think the heavier stuff will keep receiving the energy to keep its intensity?

It's not often I'm one of the gutted ones on here and I must say its pretty damn painfull! It hurts so much more that BT is getting more accumilation in the space of a few hours than I've had the past week.

God damn weather lol

Yep, this event belongs to the SW of our region - only fair I guess as annoying as it is seeing the band on the radar so close but so far.

Still, there are snow flurries here in Summerseat (North Bury), the cover from Sun/Mon is still intact on grassy areas, covered by a 1-2cm yesterday evening maybe the slightest of top ups today. It looks very pretty, and there is no disruption.

Been snowing here most of the morning, only small blowy dandruff. But it's definitely tracking north east :)

Thats the worst cam shot snow wise I could find on the traffic cams between Manchester and stoke. Doesn't look too bad as of yet.

http://www.keepmoving.co.uk/home_jamcams.aspx#mapSection (all images lest than 10 mins old)

Check all the NW cams too. It's now where near as bad as the reports are making out lol. I have a covering better that most of those cams!
