Err lost my Sky signal on the tv. Snow is currently very heavy so does anyone know - is that my dish causing the problem?

yup used to get this all the time just knock the snow off the dish with a brush and gently remove snow from the LNB thats the bit that sticks out and receives the signal

If it is covered in snow (particularly the signal collector or whatever it's called) then possible. I had to go dust ours off after heavy snow in the past.

EDIT. LNB is the name then!

My Sky used to go off in heavy snow too, sometimes even rain, it should come back on, if not, clean any snow off the LNB

Frustrating listening to snow reports from elsewhere in Edinburgh! Very light shower about 10mins ago but that's about it. Hopefully the wind changes soon.

Amber warning? For the Geordies it will be "be prepared" (to put on a jaykit...) and that's only if windchill is sub -20

I am getting a bit concerned here as the temperature has risen a degree or so to 1.3C since the wind backed Easterly. I hope that we aren't in for a weekend of sleet and slush, Lying snow now getting pretty wet too.sorry.gif

Edit. Noisy graupel shower here now as well. Wind gusting as well.

Glad to hear all the snow reports and some fantastic pics! No snow here but a cold evening with a clear, starry sky. Still hoping for snow to make it through to Glasgow later.

The band of snow has shifted inland a bit now, NMM had it getting here about 10pm if I remember correctly - hope it doesn't die out!

Was just about to post the same thing and to be fair LS warned us earlier it may happen. Temp here has risen from 1.3 to 2.3c in the last two hours, my light snow cover is thawing, showers now graupel rather than snow. Wind gusting over 40mph.
