If you want to go to Ramsgate now you would be ok, the morning might not be so good due to the French snow god!

Well in that case, if the weather gods continue to deny us in Medway, I hope you guys get plenty :-)

Any more snow for the Rye area tonight, looks like loads coming from the channel, thoughts if they will make it here

Clearly we live in very different parts of the same local area as it snowing nicely out my window and I am getting some extra coverage finally to the thin covering of earlier smile.png . Without giving my address awaytongue.png I am the Winchelsea side of Rye - think A259 from the seafront of Hastings but further east. Icklesham etc?

At the risk of sounding really boring (and ultra frustrated!) I've never seen anything like it. You could NOT make this up.

Our show shields were up for a couple of hours earlier too. Folks a few miles south were getting dumped on whilst it floated around us. All came good though :-)

The "eye" is pulling away NNW. Dry slot for those in it. Hopefully we will catch that lot over Hastings/Folkestone on its way out, then we are done for the night.

Yamkin's gritters are out in force. Just seen 2 go past here.

Not only am I now addicted to the radars, I'm also addicted to flicking through the traffic cams to see where it's snowing heavily and matching it to the radar. Thank God I live alone or else I'd have been sent to the funny farm by now.

i reckon we can call that lot over croydon

the surrey spinner laugh.png

Very odd what's happening over Surrey at the moment, it is definitely pivoting now, plus the Thames could be beginning to come into play... How much it wants to play tonight will soon become evident.

Looking very, very interesting though... Plenty more action tonight. biggrin.png

(EDIT: Pivoting right in my direction as well it seems. Time for another drink eh? :D)

Any clues to how long the French flurry train is going to last?

Probably until around 6am when moisture levels drop.

Not sure but it looks like it may be breaking apart perhaps. So maybe another 2-4 hours? Still chucking it down in Manston though! :)

Yeah looking good John!

The sky over towards Southend is the deepest orange I have seen for a long while so some serious snow over that way, I actually think the stuff over by Margate will get us later and not the Folkestone Precip, the winds should start becoming more easterly in the next 4-6 hours so should tilt some of this.

I also though this little area of LP Was supposed to move south and is a little shortwave embedded into the Upper Trough which is situated still over Ireland. Will this affect tomorrow's possible streamer action now ??

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
