Those worried that it won't last to evening this why we will be ok.

As the afternoon goes on our low starts to interact with another to west slowing its motion north and pulling it slightly west.

Between 4 and 7 our low hardly makes any progress north and the precipitation over Belgium comes around the low over a nice warm see track picking up moisture.

After 7 as the low continues to move slowly north our snow has further and further to travel over land, so will lose intensity.

Snow depth cup!

That wall is too sheltered, just seen other Ockendon reports with very different depths, what to do now?

About 2-3cm here in SE London. Very heavy now. Much much better than Friday good.gif

This is the most since Feb 2009, and apart from that in 20 years! Wooooo! This is all I ever wanted - just a couple of cm which we normally miss out on. I can't even imagine 10cm!

I agree, this snow event is much better than Friday.

Where in SE London are you?

Looks like you're doing well, Shrimper! Been out all morning , so need to catch up with the thread. But there was 2.5 cms on the wall at 12 noon.

Cool. Will have a measure up later. Gonna be a close one!

Snow has been very light here and the snowlakes have been very small all day but its accumulated very quickly. Just shows how well dry, powdery snow sticks.

Very nice steady snowfall here in Hatch End and much more than I anticipated.

I was going to buy a sledge but my wife said not to as it would have been the kiss of death for any snow forecast - looks like its the old biscuit tin instead blum.gif

Temps on the rise here + 0.5c and very light snizzle, a bit disappointing with about 2 cms+

Flakes getting quite a lot bigger. Heaviest it's been all day. Currently under a green patch on the radar in NE London.

Awwww, i dont want to sound sad but, back edge of the precipitation very close to Eastbourne coast now. A slight bit of amplification at the trailing edge of the band going on right now, after that it looks to be creeping up north/north east direction. So some more for you guys to the East and North to come for a good few hours yet. Mustnt grumble, had a few CM here this morning. Next watch for me is the system that could track along the south east coast tomorrow!

Murr snow scale 6, occasionally 7, adding about 3cm to the 3 from Friday. Worryingly, weather station is showing +0.9C with DP +1.0C - maybe the snow on top of it is now insulating it or something. Lovely walk in the woods with the doggies.
