Not looking good beyond the weekend at present but at least last minute changes could occur. I only wish I could have been in the UK for the last few days. :(

Latest NAE shows a period of heavy rain moving into Devon, Dorset and Somerset tomorrow morning;

This then turning to snow over the above mentioned areas;

post-12721-0-76230000-1358759279_thumb.j

and moving slightly further NEwards to affect Hampshire, Wiltshire, Bath, Bristol areas;

Our last decent snow hopes for this cold spell seem to be melting away this morning mega_shok.gif

Can't rely on breakdown snow as it rarely happens in west country anyway. Lets pray tuesday comes off in our favour.

Not really for Bristol northwards, the emphasis of rain - snow is over Somerset southwards on this run.

But with ever changing model output, its not really worth putting to much detail into one particular run at present.

NAE on it's own with this front and the 00z/06z both keep it slightly further west. Who knows what's going to happen??? Localised accumulations of 30mm (30cms) for parts of south Wales .

Really really strange that the NAE shows this whilst UKMO/GFS has nothing!!!! Complex system!

Wonder what Ian makes of it.

Nothing to particularly stress about according to this, some widespread chances over the coming days it seems, and this coming from the MetO.

South West England

Headline:

Cold and cloudy with some sleet or snow.

Today:

Starting icy. Rain, sleet and snow skirting the west and later far south of the region, perhaps giving a few centimetres of snowfall inland. Although cold, it will probably be drier and brighter elsewhere. Maximum Temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

Probably dry at first, however a second system of rain, sleet and snow is likely to move eastwards overnight, giving some places inland further snow, with widespread ice also likely. Minimum Temperature -4 °C.

Tuesday:

Remaining cold and cloudy, with the area of rain, sleet and snow probably lingering over the region throughout to give further snow accumulations inland, more likely over the east. Maximum Temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cold but more settled than earlier in the week. Snow flurries dying away Wednesday, Thursday then drier with some sunny spells. Friday starting bright, probably becoming cloudier and windy later.

The forecast on breakfast news had a big lump of snow over somerset for tomorrow, just checked my forecast on Meto site and its light snow for a few hours over night and Netweather has just a light fall. I will be asked for a forecast on the school playground later so need to get it right biggrin.png
