Very disappointing tonight. Looks like a lot of areas are getting hammered, but we got absolutely nothing! sad.png

And don't know what the hell is going on with the radar. It showed intense ppn over me numerous times but nothing of the sort was actually falling...

Yes tonight and Sunday have been pants in lots of parts of greater SW London ! Curses and Blue blistering Barnacles !

Hahaha, yup, amazed that I even came close, let alone managing to beat you, there is still some lying snow here as well, which is mighty odd considering we usually lose it within hours of it stopping.

West/Central London (SNO'PROBLEM) v. Coney Hall (K) (BIGGIN)

Sno'p,

If the next round coincides with a true ENE (Thames Streamer), I would think you're history.

Dont know if you know Coney Hall but sits on the road that rises up to Keston, Biggin Hill.(Bromley Boroughs Alpine Region!) and normally does very well in a Thames Streamer event. Good luck you might need it!

Regards,

Tom.

Still snowing heavily here in hastings but still not settling ? can i ask ,has anyone been affected by the gas that come over from france today ? I have but im unsure if its that or a gas leak in my house .Ive been waiting for an engineer since 8am & my house is freezing !help.gif brrrr ,im sure its warmer outside ! sorry to be a bit off topic

Touch wood it is almost certainly the harmless gas cloud that has come over the channel from Francesmile.png In terms of the snow, and being just a relatively short distance to the NE of you, there is the same frustration. Snow has been falling quite heavily for a few hours now and ironically what has fallen this afternoon and evening, if it had settled, would easily be approaching the same level (around 10cms) as the persistent long light snowfalls on Friday into Sat and then the second snowfall Sunday that settled with immediate ease. However all this wet variety is amouting to is some slush on the roof of the cars and other flat surfaces! sad.png I remember back in April 2008 there was a snowfall that did better than this onerolleyes.gif Still, at least it hasn't rainedsmile.png

Snowbomb...well known Paul....blush.png

Not so much well-known as made up by one part of the tabloid media and then copied by the rest, perhaps?

It's raining in Eastbourne but snowing inland; according to the rellies in Hailsham, it's been snowing there since early evening.

Paul,

You made a point about when to hold next round of Snow Depth Cup, I hear this talk of Snow>Rain event Friday.

Think it would be better to hold off and take our chances in Feb, dont trust frontal snow and could all end in a multitude of 0-0 draws. Anyway want to hold off to see who offers best backhanders for me to contrive most conducive flow for their snowfall! rofl.gif

Cheers,

Tom.

I'm sure Mr Murr used the term 'Snowbomb' during the 2010 snow fall when the light snow falling over part of the SE suddenly exploded over head and produced constant heavy snow. The radars rapidly changed!

Nope the Eastbourne Blob has been a wet squib so far! Not a falke in sight, plenty of rain and a nice breeze,

oh! thanks Fatboypirate. All my family live in Eastbourne and I'm sad for them and all that you've missed out today. I was in Eastbourne on Sunday when it snowed all day!! amazing scenes on the seafront with kids on sledges and families out enjoying themselves. certainly seems to bring out the best in folk!

What you reckon jp

i mate

the lot coming from france seems to be heading a more northerly direction

instead of a westerly pull

should effect areas a little more to the east of the region including us again

it does look weaker than earlier though
