We got a severe dumping last night - about six inches. Not many cars about this morning.

Dont think I'm getting my car out today lol.

Me neither , i have to go and dig it out from where i left it last night, think i might just wait till tomorrow and wait for the rain, it might be possible to float it home then

Think we maxed at about 2 inches of lovely snow last night before it turned back to rain. Fell heavy for a couple of hours just after 9. Was a sight to behold. :)

Temp now reading 6.4 and the thaw is well and truly under way. Still have a blanket of white though.

Certainly A right old dumping of snow in this neck of the woods last night! Just been out with the shovel clearing the driveway easy 15cm with up to 20cm in places :)

We ended up with around 5 inches of snow last night. It came down at a rate I've never seen before, and that I didn't think was possible. It was the proper snow too, the stuff that's really sticky & great to build with. It turned to light rain around 1am but didn't hurt the cover. Temperatures are now above 4C so as you can imagine it's melting very quickly. There's a horrible amount of slush on the ground, but man. that's the best battleground I've ever seen.

Kudos to this cold spell, we dismissed it far too early.

Here's to the next one in February. :D

Lovely day here, 3 to 4 inches of very crispy snow. It was very wet as it came down but obviously it froze in the early hours. Sunny and about 3c now, thawing but not as quickly as I expected. Turned this from an average to a good cold spell.

Wonderful photos everyone! A memorable night for many varied reasons. Everywhere almost clear here and stepping outside felt balmy at 6c! Might put a t-shirt on!

Maybe I was spoilt living in Cumbria, but that wasn't a spectacular break down. No wind, no drifting, and not that much snow. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice snowfall but nothing in historical terms.

Wow temps are now 6.4c. the slush around me is disappearing fast.

Where in the Ribble Valley do you live? Its quite long!

In Bolton town centre now never seen it like this before. Had to buy some wellies as the snow is deep in places and where its melting there are pools of water so my feet got very wet - even with boots on!

Take a look on Sat24. The clear skies allow you to see the snowcover in the UK. The south missed out, lol!

Still quite a bit of snow on the ground here despite the thaw. Mr. Snowman's not so happy!

That was excellent last night. We need more like that more often. Even if it does only last a few hours
