    Rare attempt at a squall line in the early hous. Lightning, Hail and heavy rain. However it wasn't windy so it didn't it just missed out.

    A few showers overnight but the band of heavy rain fragmented as it reached here.

    Currently dry, breezy and sunny.

    Numerous snow drifts surviving, and also a surprising number of undrifted snow patches; these are mainly in areas in the lee of woods, and on steep banks facing E/NE.

    Some clear spells, though with blustery moderate showers through evening and the early hours. The morning started clear, though blustery moderate showers moved in from the west around 07:30 GMT. The showers cleared by 08:30 GMT. At observation, clear, breezy, sunny spells.

    Staying very mild overnight with a few more spells of light rain. The day dawned cloudy and damp. Turning brighter toward observation. Bright, but very windy with westerly gusts past gale force. High 10.6c so mild, but not feeling so. Blustery showers spread in to the area from the NW by late afternoon, these continued well in to the evening.

    drove down m1 this morning took a road from halifax ,hudds,barnsley and m1.torrential rain with very strong winds between 4.00 and 6.00amdown to midlands worst i've driven in a very long time!!!!!!

    also saw at least 5 flashes of lightening in south yorks

    Heavy to very heavy rain 0230 - 0330, then clear intervals.

    Friend told me that there was a thunderstorm at Aberystwyth 0700, I looked north to a see a solitary distant flash in that direction.

    Fresh to strong west to SW wind, sunny spells and mainly dry today. Quite mild.
