I gather from the model outlook thread that a warm sector has appeared to spoil the party on Sunday! It will be gone by this evening then back again best to wait till Saturday to know what's going to happen Sunday

Many reports of snow in northwest! Surley a good sign?

I am in South Cheshire and nothing has arrived here yet despite what the radar shows but this band certainly looks more intense

The warm sector is only on the GFS 6z run so relax everybody. Nice to see a covering of snow this morning, hopefully get a bit more this pm before the warm sector turns it to rain.

Some pictures of the great 1991 blizzards in coventry upto 31cms that day.

Fantastic link shezale, thanks for posting!

Incidentally, there is a thread within the Historic Weather area for this particular event - would you mind sharing the link there as well, plus any memories you have of the day?

It seems to be slightly too warm for snow here at the moment, however the temperature is dropping quite quickly now the sun has disappeared - five minutes ago it was 5.3c whereas now it is already 4.5c. The DP is currently -0.9c

Metcheck is showing a rain / sleet event for Sunday - or am I reading it incorrectly?

Probably is now on the 06Z, my post was on 00Z, metcheck purely base it on GFS, and 06Z is pants for snow

hoping todays rain holds off until 5.30pm

In true Telford fashion the heavy precip is holding off here till the mild uppers arrive, did manage a very light dusting of snow overnight however! was all gone bar a few spots in the shade by 10am though.

Wow the North-West thread is going into meltdown, multiple reports of blizzard-like conditions although not everywhere is seeing it settle so far.

All heading our way - could be interesting for a couple of hours before it turns back to rain :)

Started snowing here 5 mins ago.

Not heavy yet, medium sized flakes which are being blown in all directions, bit weird, as if they are floating around in a snowglobe!

It has gone quite dark, def a case of putting the car lights on when on the school run.

Doubt it will snow in Leicester I am afraid, your uppers should be on a sharp rise soon.
