    A cloudy and windy night with a steady thaw of lying snow and showers of sleet, these turning to light snow flurries by early morning as the temperature began to fall again.

    Current conditions; Brief, light snow showers and bright intervals. Most of yesterday's lying snow has thawed.

    Squally showers cleared away after midnight and the early hours saw clear spells, windy. Low –0.3c. with –1.6c on the grass. The morning to observation has been cold and windy, icy underfoot. Snow showers in the vicinity, currently a very light snow flurry. Sunny spells through the morning. Cloud increased from the west just afternoon and there was a spells of light to moderate snow, though little accumulation. The snow turned to light rain by late afternoon. Feeling cold in the fresh to strong WNW wind. Light to moderate rain continued in to the evening.

    A dry and rather cloudy day with some brighter intervals. According to the thermometer it's not particularly cold, but it certainly feels colder in the wind. Maximum 6.2, minimum 2.4. Wind fresh NNW.

    Any light snow showers died out by 0915 and the rest of the day was dry, chilly and windy with large amounts of Sc. The cloud began to break up and disperse towards sunset.

    Very windy with severe northerly gusts last night, and some hail and rain showers.

    Sunny periods and a fresh to strong north wind today. Distant shower streamer (Pembrokeshire Dangler) visible much of tne day.

    Clear periods and breezy this evening.

    • Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

      It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average.
