UIKMO is better and has a glimmer of hope for the Northern most parts of the region. Midlands still the place to be though as things stand

Ok, I know I'm not well, but can't help feeling really cheesed off! For this part of south west Essex this winter has promised so much but actually delivered very little. A few crisp mornings and a couple of snow flurries, otherwise not much different to last autumn!

HMM NAE and 12Z GFS = Nail and coffin IMO. We need a miracle to see any decent lying snow otherwose it will be a rain or sleet fest for the whole region im afraid, even Northern Cambs / Norfolk is showing Dew points around 3c right into Monday sad.png

Really? NAE predicted whiteout conditions couple of weeks ago but I got nothing but rain...NAE really isn't as fantastic as people make it out to be!

Good grief, it's getting like the MOD thread in here:

ferraritoys.jpg

Weeks of following/finding the next cold spell = close but no cigar for us weather freaks in the SE

I think a little frustration is acceptable!

Although yesterday was a lifetime in weather terms away from this Sunday, the Meto update and ramp posts got everyone on a high including myself!

Hopefully things change

Whatever happens the next 24 hours, I'm sure a few of us will end up doing this...

Yet again everyone is writing off a future event? It doesn't look favourable on these runs granted, but as Mark Twain once said: "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated"

Well after viewing the 12z UKMO seems like a correction southwards, and that is just raw output, lets see if the modified version we will here about later from METO is any more favourable. I am not discounting the GFS, but frankly in the time frame now, we must put some onus on METO.

We should still expect changes. Even right through the next few runs.

Me either:

As Steve Murr has just said over on the MOD thread.

"Very poor for the South and SE"

I think he genuinely means he can't see the data lol, UKMO is definitely better!

North Essex is North of London and North Essex is just in a fairly good position for snow.

That's not based on the 12z data though.

I expect it to be gone on the BBC1 evening news forecast at 6:25pm

Looking at the NAE thickness 850 / 1000 hpa / SLP charts you can see the slight adjustment for 6am Sunday as one example.

So whilst yes it looks unlikely corrections will be enough for all of the region on this thread, some might benefit over next 24 hours right up to t0.

No winter definetely isn't over yet.

But Sundays potential snow is looking 'over'

Hope we see corrections south tomorrow :-)
