From Ian Fergusson:

"No. High res no panacea: can actually exacerbate inaccurate solution. For example, UKMO-GM and MOGREPS-R output bears little resemblance to 12z NAE re snow distribution and amounts in central-southern England. Hence awaiting 18z with interest".

That's bullying. If I wasn't so thick, Edit (thick skinned) I might take offence. Back to the weather, there isn't any here, it appears to have gone somewhere else.

Isn't it cold? Its cold here.

Fully expecting downgrades and a shift north east now after reading mod thread

Lots of posts in the mod thread last night # rain from midlands south.... Cough cough

Stick with the pros on tomorrow's possible event!

Erm, why? I have seen nothing to suggest that. Ian is saying that the Met Office don't agree with the snow amounts shown on the NAE for Central Southern England. Nothing to do with our region.

No it's not cold here. My house faces directly to the North Sea on Gunton Cliff and if there is cold air about we most certainly feel it. This is very mild for this time of night.

Without going in that thread, maybe based on the ECM

ECM1-24.GIF?09-0

I can`t see anything that makes "The hardest thing to forecast" nailed on anywhere at present. If they are sticking with the NAE output later then maybe they have`t a clue either.

I have figured it out. This is the calm before the big storm. Temperature now 4.5c. Wind speed 3mph. It can only mean one thing. Can't remember the point I was going to make. But I'm pretty sure it was important weather wise..

Nothing hush hush, but I still can't say. Government contracts so the less said the better. Yes occasionally I end up getting locked in, or as they love to call it a lock down. So sadly you just keep on working. Thankfully I'm now off work until Sunday night.

No point gritting yet, the rain beforehand will wash it away... Haha 26 hours gritting, that in itself would bring the roads to a standstill :-)

SAS? Well you won't be in on Sunday if you get snowed in first... :-) saying that the SAS can get through anything.
