LOL In fairness most of my fishing is from the shore around the helford porthallow area.

Shallow diving plugs mostly. Fish mostly in the 2-3 lb range.odd one a bit bigger.

i did not get out as often as I wanted last year due to the poor weather but the best I could do was a 4lb 7oz bass and that was from the kayak :-)

Lets hope we have a good summer this year and not have all our best in march and April :-) ..........please!

Jeez for a minute I thought I'd dropped onto the wrong board, all this talk of fish.

Cloud rolling through and now holding the temperatures constant above freezing.

Here is an interesting read wrt Radar analysis. About half way down there are a few pages highlighting the occasional inaccuracies/weakness's of the system. Probably whats happening in the south east.

Thursday 21st February in Cornwall:

Prolonged sunshine for many though perhaps cloudier on the South coast around Falmouth and St Austell. A biting cold Easterly wind. Perhaps some snow flurries moving into South East Cornwall by late evening.

Currently just below freezing here at -0.3c but with a significant windchill.

He cold air is starting to sweep across the region now so it will be interesting to here the temperature reports over the next few days from across the region.

Interesting to note how temperatures in the SE appear to have held up overnight and in many places have not reached freezing point. With an average 12mph wind of course it still feels chilly at -5Cclapping.gif

Morning SW/Central Team!

Currently 0oC with very overcast skies and a slight breeze here in Henley today...

...but what should I expect Mother Nature to throw at us on Exmoor this weekend? I would appreciate any input from you learned souls!

Thanks,

Iggy

Thank you very much Cerneman!

Exciting to hear there could be some snow flurries as we're staying in a large group of 22 and hoping to go hiking across the Moor with the mutts, but the log fire and Aga may win us over if the wind chill continues! It was biting yesterday!

Will continue to read the forum and monitor the latest updates for our gang! Cheers!

Interesting for some folk in our region this from our good forecaster; Mr Ian Fergusson;

''Meanwhile, the Channel shower stream focussed into Dartmoor/S Devon/SE Cornwall remains a very consistent feature through Friday.

1-2cm accumulations fairly commonplace under any such convergence areas through Friday

Would be great down in torbay to get any snow. We missed out earlier this year and in dec 2010. I remember the train journey in dec 2010. Thunder and hail at home, haldon hill closed so travelled by train into exeter. Nothing in newton abbot, snow at dawlish on the coast! Then deeper and deeper into exeter. Really odd having family at home in green fields and work mad with 7" + of lying snow and the hospital on alert due the poor conditions.
