A new thread to dedicate to October 2007 and what people remember it by. I remember it by being a very pleasant autumn month with some Indian summer bits every now and again. It was typically sunny by day and frosty by night. Apparently it was also the driest month since 1985 and understandably so.

It was sunnier, drier and warmer than average here, but pretty unexceptional. Rain did only fall on 6 days during the month and 27.0mm in total, but the majority of that was from 24.2mm on the 9th.

Temperature-wise it was pretty homogenous (for October) with few really warm or cold days, the highest being 20.3C on the 12th. It didnt have any cold nights in this neck of the woods either with the absolute low (and only sub-5C minima) of the month being 4.3C on the 19th.

Still, Autumn 2007 was a welcome relief after the disasterous flooding in this area in June. Each of the three months were warmer, sunnier and drier than average. From a weather enthusiasts point of view it was very boring though, with no frosts, storms, snow and only 1 day of fog.

I think autumn 2007 had more fog than recent autumns. The good part about the month is you could go out for a walk and feel better about yourself. It was a very nice month indeed.
