Grass cut, weeds banished. Ah the smell of freshly cut grass smile.png

Felt really warm out there. Just got to do the back garden now wacko.png

I'm hoping to get a sharp frost now I have cut the grass. With a bit of luck it will die and I wont have to cut it anymore

Ian Ferguson

"EC agrees with UKMO-GM re sharper trough Saturday; some dynamic snow across C-E parts of England; mostly inconsequential amounts but perhaps local impacts based on current UK4 accumulations. That aside, broader story still consistent re light flurries on other days through to early next week with anticyclonic influence and waning easterly (with markedly dry signal in ensembles) remaining until end of Feb. Cyclonic and less cold story early March, albeit northerly flow in some solutions means cautionary approach re any promise of 'milder'..... "

I've got to say that with the prospect of appreciable snowfall currently looking slight in any one location, I'm really not looking forward to the cold, cloudy, windy spell that's about to hit, particularly with the evidently nice day that I've seen outside my work window today.unsure.png

Still, it shouldn't last too long and hopefully it'll become more benign next week - I would like to see snow too mind you, just not cloudy, mostly dry and very raw.

12Z seems to be showing an upgrade in snow risk for Kent over Thursday night into Friday and then onto the weekend.

I think people should avoid going down to the mod thread, most of the people WUMing about the snow not coming DONT live in Kent or SE!

We are still in with a good chance, only +60 now still showing snow.

From something I picked up on the model thread last night.

Here is an archive chart from late January 1947. If you step forward, through the month of February, you can see a persistant Greenland high, with very frequent easterly winds and undercutting low pressures. A snow lovers paradise!biggrin.png I can but dream...sad.png

where's that minus 16 air when you need it!rolleyes.gif

Goodluck mate keep trying.....I had a year looking but finally got one,now have a 125 mile round trip drive for less money but its a job.Trouble is you end up looking for exactly what you have been doing and if its specialised they don't come up very often, having retrained 15 years ago I had two directions to go but due to being a certain age any further change was a bit daunting.

Don't give up hope things do seem to be picking up,I am still on some sites and have started getting more and more jobs coming through.

After a very foggy and icy start, it turned out beautiful here today. Spent most of it over our local park. At one point I had to take my coat off and only had a t-shirt on. That was mainly due to me chasing my 3 & 5 years about, not really to do with the heat of the sun. Quite chilly now the sun has set.

Been a lovely couple of days, the pond was relined and filled yesterday and we thought about turning it into a plunge pool due to the warm sunshine, however expecting it to be an ice rink by the weekend. This morning, the met office app showed a flake of snow for Saturday, but it was gone by the afternoon

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?
