I don't think a Thames Streamer is likely to happen based on the informative posts in here, and the MetO forecasts. So lets 'downgrade it' to a Thames Tiddler.... ?

I can think of other names for it but I won't post it on here!

I did hear of one snowflake falling somewhere near the Thames so this must be the Thames Streamer in action.laugh.png

Now I like a light dusting overnight and through the weekend, but I also like a heavy dump from a streamer or other disturbance. But which one would I choose for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday?

There's only one way to find out....

Total expected snowfall from hi res NMM model until Midday Saturday. Maybe NW Kent the sweet spot then?

But overall not too exciting imho, if this was to be borne out.

Ok, I am at height, and in NW Kent, so according to various models, we are going to be in a sweet spot for snow. It is -0.5c here, and not a snowflake in sight. I don't see where it is going to come from? Dp's are so low....what is expected to change that will start the snowfall?

Gate-

wait for the winds to swing slightly North of East- due late this eve-

Then over friday into SAt we get some convergence over the thames & inject some moisture into the air. At that point the Dps will move up a little.

S

Thanks Steve, much appreciated. Fingers crossed

Is there anyone in the Chelmsford area to confirm if anything is falling from the very light ppn showing over there?

It doesn't look like anaprop to me, and it seems to be moving steadily WSW... I know it's nothing much, but might be an indicator of the possibilities later on.
