Lovely day here, classic late winters day with clear sunny skies after a cold clear night. Temps will average out pretty much bang on the February average!

Then the Easterly arrives with a lot of low cloud.....

You obviously have difficulty grasping the concept of what springs weather implies.

Not really, going off the averages for the month today will be pretty much bang on..... This month is a winters month, therefore it feels pretty much normal for a winters month! Rather than a below average spring day!

Indeed it is a winters month and these last few days have produced the coldest temps of the winter, which shows just how poor the rest of winter has been for cold and frosts.

Loving this cold & frosty spell and it's taken it's flipping time to materialise during the final stage of February, better late then never!

Indeed, Just a shame you missed most of the snow events also could of made the winter more interesting from an in your backyard point of view.

I think March could be a rather diverse month, more so than usual.

Indeed, this IMBY is the second worst winter for recoding frosts and the third worst for recording snowfall in over thirty years of keeping records. A very poor winter in these parts, luckily Spring is around the corner and after a few cool/cold days temps look like recovering to normal values and beyond, hopefully.

Not too fussed that there won't be any snow with this cold spell. I prefer the sun at this time of the year. makes me feel better

Out in the garden soaking up the rays this late morning, couldn't believe how warm it was without the wind but sadly things will soon be taking a downwards turn into tomorrow with frosts, snow, and ice on the way. Still today has been a welcome respite from the past few months of cloud and rubbish.

Almost 8C now thanks to lovely sunny skies for the 5th day in a row, and there is still frost and frozen ground in the shade, mental!

Have a look on Sat24 posted above, you can clearly see the cloud and murk making it's way eastwards from that easterly. Cue grey skies and murk, again.

Typical wednesday my day off and I bet it will be dull, cloudy and cold - nothing like the past glorious 4 days including today. Benign weather does make the regionals quieter. For a start nothing to radar-watch, and well there's only so much you can comment about when the weather is not very active. I really hope we get a sitting high pressure over us in the summer, can you imagine what 7-10 days of flawless summer weather would do for the economy and emotional well being. I wouldn't like it month after month like the mediterranean/middle east but a week or so would be nice

Another fantastic day, I was stripped down to a T-shirt working out in the sun, frost lingered in the shade all day.

Love this time of year when the sun starts to feel warm.

Noticeable that length of daylight is increasing, nearly 6pm and still a good twilight glow to the west.

I disagree with you because the Pennines prob blocks the most of the cloudy weather so it will still be a good day tomorrow but few more clouds than today.

The wind is still light tomorrow so I cant see clouds coming over here anyway. Its only 15mph at best so it will not enough to bring clouds from the east.

The graphics on the beeb weather showed a cloudy start to the morning but this breaking up in the afternoon, fingers crossed.
