A nice dry, breezy day - ideal for drying the washing :)

I did think earlier that I might get 3 flakes of snow today - but looking at the radar, I suspect I was a bit optimistic ....... :D

Afternoon folks. I think some dynamic snow showers will become widespread and more organized later as the very cold uppers encroach from the NE from around now. It will also be interesting with the precip to the south of us and how far north it will get, perhaps grazing the south midlands? Anyway some bitterly cold weather on offer within the next couple/three days, unusually cold for this time of year. Enjoy the snow falling and if youre lucky and its certainly possible[ settling]good.gifgood.gifgood.gif

I just got back from watching my son's football match. It was very very cold as the wind is incredibly icy. It snowed most of the match but only lightly with nothing settling. In heavier bursts the flakes were bigger.

I think snow will settle as we get towards evening and then overnight some parts that are within the lines of showers could get a decent covering. Other parts will get very little though.

doesn't look inspiring if the met office forecasts anything to go by for the west mids. Here's hoping for a change.

The colder upper are now moving in overhead as the snow has turned more fluffy and there are proper flakes in it too.

The temps must be falling as well or it's be more sleety at this level.

I think it'll be settling within the next 2-3 hours, especially as the temperatures fall for night.

Think we may just end up with flurries I'm afraid looking at how showers start to weaken as they come inland. Hopefully, they'll either intensify or the radar is playing tricks again. It's having a good go out there now at the moment though.

Means snow has fallen on every single month this winter. Although December's brief affair is hardly worth mentioning!

Agreed Gord, although the ones heading to the wash now look a bit more interesting, let's see how they get on.

Moderate/heavy snow here now, that area near coventry and leicester is really pepping up.

This is why sou should always go with the hear and now and not with the forecasts.

Defo a different type of snow now not wet.

Yes if we catch a heavy shower after dark it may settle :)

Sorry guys only just noticed the MetO forecast. Missed all the build up. Whats going on ?

I'm looking at MetO forecast and it has me down for 15hours of heavy snow. Yet I look at the NAE and GFS output and precipitation is nowhere to be seen. What the heck is going on???
