T72 ECM has the low fractionally deeper than the UKMO

U72-21.GIF?08-18ECF1-72.GIF

Both are probably 100 miles or so too far south for any disruptive frontal snow (for our region). Of course, things may change for the better...

ECM0-192.GIF?08-0

ECM101-192.GIF?08-0

we havent seen one of these for a while

potent north westerly

that has heavy precipitation all over and pockets of colder air still in the mix in the south east

way in fi now but that would be interesting

ECM has the precips further North, this is the 'Northward nudge' I was alluding to biggrin.png

Also this model wasn't having the precips in the UK at all so this is a fantastic upgrade.

Hope for a shift Northward then we could all be in for some nice snowfalls.

A foggy day from start to finish with also some heavy rain in periods.

I found the combination of fog with rain quite weird though lol. Fog builds on clear night and can sometimes be wet enough to drizzle, it doesn't usaully rain. Some fog must have got trapped under the front when it came over.

Hi all

Not in the met office warning zone but hoping it still means I will get something over the weekend?

Exciting times!

Well I have been flipping around all the various weather websites all day so as confused as ever. All part of the fun I guess. I have seen predictions of between 0cms right up to 25cms with 50mph winds and blizzard conditions, and that just in our region. dirol.gif

Cracking open a beer if anyone cares to join me drinks.gif

When I get in from work I'll try and find all those Snow Depth Cup replays that need to be decided!

Remember Lottie is the only one through to the next round so far. Right thats jinxed the snow again!oops.gif

Regards,

Tom.

Yeah I thought the same. Made it so dreary today, but mild at the same time.....

Indeed. I can't remember experiencing it like this before. Really hammering down but with visibility of 100m or less!

ECM looks better from that ppn update for the 12z. Another slight nudge north would help more of the region of course. Still a move the right way thoughsmile.png

I'm only hoping it not going to be chilly down the south east next week particulairly guildford as i'll be down there for a few days from thursday to monday. Was planning to wear my thin jacket but the heavier one may be in order!

Wierd day, thick fog all day and heavy rain wth it, temps starting to fall off too now at 5.8c..

would be nice to see some snow early next week, but dont really want the cold to drag on forever , as being a landscape gardener by trade its starting to have a knock-on affect , buissiniss wise that is. snow should be reserved for Jan/Feb, wth summer following in March, we can dream...I will settle for 1 day of snow and ice...
