during the period sunday to tuesday there is s possibilty

that winds may become quite gusty rofl.gif

no john. you would have told everyone what they wanted to hear- that we would get 4 feet of snow lasting 2 weeks.... then, when of course it didn't happen, you would blame the previous government.

you could get a job writing the met office forecasts though.....biggrin.png

fair enough but i'm surprised they rely on the raw GFS model. its very good (despite what some say) but not down to the type of detail some people think. its a global model and needs human input to account for 'local' conditions (i.e. the met office)

This topic has come up before.

The location/postcode forecasts are based the model that company has chosen.

Do you really think there is time for individual forecasts for each postcode having had human input? They are not Santa.

Of course, the written updates are not just based on one model.

Sparkly wine for mebiggrin.png

Right, can you lot stop quaffing booze, it may be Friday and we may have a potentially exciting event.....but I am on a strict, calorie controlled diet, whereby I have been almost cradling a vodka and coke (yes, nursing and gazing at it lovingly and longingly) for an hour to make it last.....if all this talk of cracking open beers and sparkly wine doesn't stop, I may have another drink. I will then blame you lot when I don't fit into my summer clothes!

.....and back to weather........

again, fair enough. just that postcode forecasts using a global model are never going to be accurate. some people do take them as gospel and complain when they are wrong. mind you, most people don't realise how difficult weather forecasting is and expect even the met office to be able to tell them what the weather will do over their house at any given time! lol

I think most of us will get snow, whether it's frontal or through convection depends on what happens and were you are.

any guess on snow over here?

That's just my opinion though, I'm not a forcaster and maybe wrong.

You lot talked the wife into making a barcadi and coke, with wine and beer they are about the only thing that I can drink with medication I am now on for life, used to love my whisky but that's now a thing of the past, that's the problem of being and old git, not only does everything on your body slowly deteriorate but the fun things you could do all night either kill you or .... Well I am sure you can fill in the blanks.

Lets hope for a good dumping and let's hope north west Kent joins in, but if not then let's hope for a moderately warm summer.
