really coming down hard - this is not a flurry!

seem to be in the "sweet" spot tonight for a change - being fed from lighter showers from the midlands - hitting the mountains and then get pepped up - amazing!

readily turning white here

narnia returns

feeling sorry for the wildlife round here - they must be scratching there little heads wondering what the hell's going on

Hope that little band makes its way this far west, perfect timing for here also with nightfall coming, also winds have decreased making the showers/bands slightly more slow moving! We've had 2 dustings already since Friday here but the wind was so strong it was just whipping the snow away, not really thawing jst blowing away.

Snowed all along the Heads of the Valleys road as I drove between Abergavenny and Merthyr this afternoon up till about 4.30. Then flurries off and on down A470 as far as Tongwynlais. Persistent snow falling in Corntown about a mile from Bridgend. It is a nice bonus as my Easter trip to Yorkshire was cancelled due to amount of snow down and heavy snow forecast to be falling all day. That was a real blow to a snow lover. Not settling here at moment but as the ground cools, who knows....

Temps too high here at sea level for it to stick. Nice to see it still going though, more than the "odd flake of snow blowing in the wind" that was on the BBC TV forecast. ;)

Turned into a mini event this, the least we deserve.

Yup :) If you look at the radar too, for the past couple of hours the back edge of this band has constantly been at the outskirts of Gloucester. SE Wales streamer?! Settling on roofs, cars and grass here in low lying west Newport.

Been analysing the radar for the past 2 hours and noticed the growth in intensity of this band, it's very slow moving also, could give a couple of cm to some lucky spots across south Wales tonight methinks. Hoping it will make it as far west as Ammanford :p (doubt it very much) but if it does it will be sweet as the tempreature is below 0 here now.

Derek the weather suggests snow showers only tonight. This shower is getting stuck in here and settling on the cars. Whilst snowy ground is a bit much to hope for from these synoptics, it's very nice to see the white stuff fluttering about at this time of year.
