This is the scene in my back garden taken just a few minutes ago. Note the metal private parking sign in the garden to the left of the trampoline. The wind has ripped the sign clean off the wall next to the wheelie bin in the top left of the picture and launched it unceremoniously over the fence into our garden! I am just glad none of us were hit by it good.gif

It's still snowing here although we appear to be having a respite from the deluge we had this morning and it's now very windy indeed. The strongest winds are expected between 3pm and 6pm this afternoon so time to batten down the hatches.

That looks nice, but i thought you guys in the channel were going to get a lot more than that!

Decided not to lay the patio I'm booked in to do today in the wind exposed garden at the top of the hills near me....

Radar has got quite interesting in the last hour - that's a lot of showers compared to this morning.

Managed 2 hours work strimming this morning and my fingers felt like someone had hit them with a hammer.

Going back in a minute though, lawns very dry,. perfect for cutting.

All a bonus today, thinking i was going to have the day of for the snow, silly mefool.gif

edit Forgot to say,at 11:36 i think i saw a few little flakes in the wind,TBH it was probably just dandruff

Lots of snow flurries about today.

Very nice. ( none settling obviously )

Could be interesting in a few days though.

I couldn't believe the wind this morning, the chill aspect I can cope with when out working but the frequency and potency of the gusts was

very surprising and quite something to experience.

Snow flurries/showers in Warminster for the last hour, to me they seem to be from the frontal situation rather than the showery set up affecting

most areas further N/NE as the cloud type is frontal rather than convective.

After all the hype for the south west, Dorset down to Cornwall really crapped out on this one laugh.png

Most experts say that precip charts should be taken with a pinch of salt but i raise my glass to the NAE on this one, the NMM was horrifically wrong ..

4 to 5" of lying snow quite widely according to the NMM.

Congratulations on 3000 posts!

Real up and down day here isn't it, one minute the sun's trying to break through and a slight thaw begins, the next minute we've moved to Antartica.

Keeping a close eye on the stuff coming out of Jersey - if some of the forecast models are right then this morning was just the starters for us. But very hard to tell if it will make it looking at the radar.

Light snow flurries in Bristol now. Bitterly cold out too, as expected.

EDIT: Getting a tad heavier now and blowing around in the wind.

Nice to look at if nothing else.

The NAE was completely wrong for here though (until the last minute turn around this morning), yesterday it was going for 2-4mm here up to Tuesday pm - we've exceeded that already

Blimey o'reilly that radar has pepped up over the last couple of hours. shok.gif Widespread showers UK wide away from the main precipitation band which should drift slowly Eastwards as the day wears on.
