I probably would venture out if I wasn't too busy today.

Just watch the radar and have the car keys to hand. Anything that does crop up later, and your ready to go to it if it doesn't come to you.

Starting to become more widespread across the SW now, expect increasing reports of hail, sleet and snow now.

Nothing here yet though.

A squall like feature between Exeter and Poole with sferics recorded there. Also an intense cell by Plymouth; rain rates of about 80mm/hr. Cells are really starting to kick off now!

I LOVE THIS THREAD!!! All the interesting charts, watching convection kick off, sweating as pulse storms pass a few miles around me.... Gearing up for hopefully a lightning filled Spring & summer :D

Plenty of sferics in the last hour across the SW - particularly Plymouth area and east of Exeter into west Dorset:

Second batch of cells currently over South Devon/Cornwall area look more intact and less scattered than the cells across the West Country.

If these stay in tact and develop further to the NE, the West Country could get some decent returns at peak time.

Yes that radar echo over Dorset is fascinating, looking at its path it should come over Warminster very soon although it's weakening

as they have done throughout the afternoon so far leaving this area with heavy showery rain with some hail mixed in.

Unfortunately the sky isn't of a clean convective nature though so it's hard to pick out any individual cells amongst the general murk.

Same as Andy, heavy rain but no lightening. Electrical energy weakening as they move NE.

A lot of cumulus and stratocumulus cloud around here preventing the sun from doing its job properly.

Heaviest rain yet but still no T&L,come mother nature be nice.

Best cells seem to be heading into SE Wales. Perhaps a trip to Portishead would have been a better idea.

Sorry! :(

The sky is clearing to my south will give me a better view of what's about, although plenty of time for something to happen but in all honesty I don't think anything will.
