Evening all,

All this talk of storms reminded me of a visit to my sister who used to live in Andorra. We went to see her one summer when all the snow had melted and there were alpine streams running through the beautiful mountains. Driving back from town during the day to where she lived (which was on a ski resort) we would see the clouds around the tops of the mountains and we had to drive through them up the Pyrenees to get to her village. The evening before we left there was a huge thunder storm and we watched for hours as the lightning hit the mountains. It was amazing and after that I never feared them again, instead I've found them amazing! I've never seen anything like that before or since but totally understand why people find hem scary.

BTW, She lives in Watford now....l not sure the storms there are quite as dramatic smile.png

A lot more Muslims though

Evening. Well i woke up at 7:30am and began to get ready for long enduring 9 hour shift at work. By the time i had got ready and looked out my window the rain had turned sleety. By the time i was leaving my house snowflakes began to fall. Now at 8;30am these snowflakes became golfballs, and after that literally big fat chunky feather like flakes, for 2hrs we had heavy bursts of snow and the wet surface had become under 4cm of snow. A remarkable event, considering it was morning in mid March smile.png

Oh i do love the british weather!

Sorry to be a pain but I've had trouble viewing the forum for some reason. What can we expect over the next few days?

so its wait and wait again, just maybe nw london will hit the jackpot and everything will be shunted down over us for once.

but probably impossible, we are never capable here of catching the really deep snow other areas in the south east have received over the last 5 years.

Oh i hope

Pity then that Guildford has missed all the snow this month and didn't get the thunder yesterday either. Every event seems to go round us and not over us. 5 days off work coming up this week and doesn't look like any of them will be suitable for a pleasant bike ride.

Not impressed with March 2013 at all - fed up with all the drizzle and light rain and continuing 'winter' without snow. Wish it would either just be sunny and warm as last year or get some proper snow like in January when things did work out well locally.
