Steady cold drizzling rain in the George Square area of Edinburgh. Report from coastal East Lothian rellies say incredibly windy there, sleet early, rain now.

Rain continuing, but turning sleety and temp down to 2C. Ground is utterly sodden though at the moment.

When are the dew points likely to drop today? This afternoon or overnight?

What are thoughts on the following ? Is the current precipitation likely to increase or intensify as the uppers drop or is there a specific front moving across?

very light snow starting here. Most definitely 100% snow. Good sign me thinks.

Well the temp has been dropping (1.8/-0.8 @11am in Dyce), the wind is a brisk easterly, but the precipitation has really dropped off. Best we're getting at the moment is intermittent snizzle. We need some beefier stuff to start appearing out over the north sea to make this more interesting.

the current stuff isnt the fun and games stuff that will come in later and the uppers will drop off with that and it should readily be snow

Stunningly cold out today here currently1.5c with a fresh NE wind. There have been light flurries of wet snow since 10.00am but sun is out just now.

Alternating snowflakes and drizzling-rain. No sleet, but the snow is only for a few minutes and straight back to raining.

Hopefully we'll all see some snow later BMW, I need to keep reminding myself that it is the third week in March and it is not normal to have a temp of 0.9ºC at lunchtime. Snow would simply be a bonus, not a right

still snowing lightly here and still 100% snow with no rain to be seen. Flakes are getting to a good 20p piece size now but not close to settling as the ground is too wet yet. I finish work at 4am tomorrow morning so should make for an interesting drive home.
